Remarkable Jerusalem

Today we visited Jerusalem and it was truly an amazing experience, we walked the same steps that Jesus walked when he was resurrected, we saw where the 12 Apostles had The Last Supper.  We stared mesmerized by the tomb where Jesus was laid, and although I’m personally not religious its incredible to realize just how old and special these places are and the events that happened here.  You could feel the energy in the air, it was palpable you couldn’t help but feel connected. When visiting the Western Wall, we were able to write a prayer on a piece of paper and place it in the wall so it may come true.  There were Rabbi’s performing special prayers with the men, the wall is separated by the sexes, and you must cover your head either with a hat or a kippah.

We then went over to the Shuk, the outdoor flea market of sorts, and eat some awesome falafel and other Israeli treats.  It’s fun haggling over the price of things in Hebrew because I’m able to speak it enough to carry a conversation now.  We tried some absolutely delicious dessert, I forgot the name of it, but it was a pastry with a jelly-like cream filling it was life changing.  The whole experience of Jerusalem, and seeing the different monuments that mean so much to so many people was truly unforgettable.  It really is a place everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime.
