Part 6: 2022 MSL Symposium Series

MSL student presenting

The Northwestern Master of Science in Law (MSL) program attracts entrepreneurs and entrepreneurially-minded students and professionals. These folks build a foundation in law and business, and they learn about many of the unique regulatory and legal issues they face when starting or contributing to a new business venture. The MSL offers specific classes that are meant to bring out and cultivate the inner (and outer) entrepreneur in each student; the presentations in this post focus on the training our students have received and some of the business ideas they have developed.

Neil Misak, a graduate of the part-time format, talks about the importance of interdisciplinary education in entrepreneurship as a mechanism for advancing ideas and innovation.  He uses his own company, REUSO, to demonstrate how his MSL learning helped drive his business forward.

Nawon Kim, a full-time alumna, looks at how she became an entrepreneur in the Entrepreneurship Lab course, and in particular, the role that her cultural background played in helping her generate the idea that eventually became the focus of her team’s business.

Xi He was involved in a number of different entrepreneurial experiences as a full-time MSL student. Her symposium presentation focuses on the development of a business that grew out of a Kellogg class she took during the MSL program – the company uses a 3D vision technology to improve automation in various industries.
