MSL 2021-2022 Student Governance Leaders

MSL students meeting in classroom.

Each year at the beginning of the fall semester, MSL students are invited to join the MSL Student Governance committee. Committee members serve as class leaders and work closely with MSL staff to make the MSL year as positive and productive as it can be. At the first meeting, students form themselves into subcommittees that focus on specific aspects of the MSL student experience:  programming, community development, curriculum, career advancement, marketing & recruiting, and public service.

The Student Governance committee has undertaken impressive initiatives that have advanced the program and improved the MSL experience. Projects such as the MSL Day of Kindness, multiple public service activities, and fun holiday and graduation events have helped develop the MSL community.  Advice and guidance provided by the Student Governance committee on matters such as curriculum development and course offerings has proven extremely helpful. An “MSL Goes Social” week to promote the MSL on social media and the creation of program ambassadors have fortified the program’s marketing and recruitment efforts. One of the most ambitious initiatives of Student Governance was the creation of an MSL Symposium:   “At The Intersection: STEM, Law, Business and the MSL.” The Symposium has become an annual event that takes place at the end of the spring term; it gives current students the opportunity to showcase the work they have done at the intersection of STEM, law, and business. These many initiatives have created a strong legacy; we look forward to the work of this year’s Student Governance committee and are excited about what they will accomplish.
