T minus 4 days until Paris: La Ville Lumiere!
3 words that describe what I’m feeling: Excitement, Worry, Horror.
Excitement: It is the City of Light people! Some would say it was the birthplace of a revolutionary wave of thinking that marked the Age of Enlightenment (La Ville Lumiere! – clever huh?) Descartes, Voltaire, Hume are just a few of the awesome people that were products of this age, and Paris is the setting where a lot of these ideas were being exchanged! My only hope is that some of the history/culture rubs off on me! #goals
Worry: I do not speak any French unfortunately…don’t know how that’s going to work out. Hopefully the people I meet will not be terribly offended. What I can say is that I am ready to try and I only hope that the limited French I’ve learned on #duolingo (best app ever) will help me through my first few weeks.
Horror: I have a DEEP rooted fear of flying. I interned for United Airlines this summer and let me just say love traveling, not a big fan of the flying part (ironic I know). Every time I got on a plane to go on a business trip I would think it was my last day on earth. Let’s just say I will be travelling on trains during my time in Europe!
Hopefully the thought of the delicious #nutella filled crepe I will be eating as soon as I land will get me through the flight *fingers crossed*
