Hi all,

To prevent the SVP from overheating and cancelling all ports, please avoid activating your samples at 30-45 degrees Celsius. The instrument has a hard time reaching these temperatures and it will overshoot and cancel the operation. If you want to activate at lower temperatures, please use 25 C or anything higher than 50 C. There is no way to prevent the instrument from cancelling all ports when only one fails.

If you want your sample to activate at a high temp and then a lower one after a set amount of time (ie. 120 for 10 hours, and then 50 C), please add an intermediate step in between to give the instrument time to cool down (ie. 120 for 10 hours, 85 for 1 hour, then finally 50).

Port 5 on SVP 2 had an overheating error when set to 80 C. After talking to Micromeritics, I believe that we will have to replace the heating mantle so I am in the process of getting quotes for those. If possible please avoid using that port.

If you walk by and notice that the activations were cancelled by the instrument, please restart those ports for your labmates.

Thanks,

Florencia
