Hi everyone,
Given the virtual format of subgroup and the new challenges we face while trying to communicate over Zoom, we have elected to modify the current subgroup format. Moving forward, we will try out the following strategy:
On the first Monday of every quarter of the academic year, we’ll have a super subgroup meeting during which everyone will present for ~10 min about their current project(s). We can think of this as a quarterly Farhomie Symposium.
On every other Monday, beginning on August 17th, we will have smaller subgroup meetings as outlined below. Everyone will still be allowed to present one intro slide and two research slides; however, we hope that smaller groups will allow for more conversation and mentoring. Of course, if you are interested in attending more than one subgroup, you are more than welcome to do so. Slides for each subgroup will be compiled and posted to Box and shared via email after the meetings as well.
Subgroup 1 (Structure/Exploratory Synthesis): Unjila, Chen, Kent, Ran, Xinyi, Sylvia, Megan, Julia, Lee, Karam, Lifeng
Meeting time: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
Subgroup 2 (Catalysis): Tim, Kenton, Zoha, Fanrui, Yijing, Jingyi, Yufang, Yongwei, Xingjie
Meeting time: 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Subgroup 3 (CWAs: Adsorption & Catalysis): Kaikai, Florencia, Riki, Rasel, Xinyao, Seung-Joon, Dahee
Meeting time: 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM
