Media in Building Momentum and Advocacy
The courses part of the Media and Politics minor have provided a look at the relationships between the public, political parties, media outlets, and individuals on a social, political, and economic level. Media has been a revolutionary force in prompting political movements, protests, and changes of thought in today’s world. With that in mind, a theme that comes to mind amidst all the courses is the media’s role in building momentum and advocacy. Coursework provides me with a basis for understanding the media’s role in politics, with incredible relevance to people’s mobility, forming political campaigns, and much more. I further explore the scope of the theme in India, which is where I am from.
