The Sudanese Revolution of 2019: Hijack of the Military Regime

Hi everyone, my name is Ayah, and I’m a graduating MIT & Communications student at Northwestern University in Qatar. I did the Media and Politics minor that’s in collaboration with Georgetown University in Qatar. I really appreciate everyone who took from their time to view and engage with my presentation. Through the discourses of this minor, I wanted to engage more with a topic of my interest. And the Sudanese Revolution was a perfect fit for that. In the presentation, I tackle the military history of Sudan that ignited several revolutions by the public, aimed to dismantle military governance. I focus specifically on the Sudanese Revolution that started in December of 2018 and officially took over in 2019. I also tackle the role that media plays in affecting the state’s politics, governing system, and the citizens as well. I hope my presentation leaves you with great knowledge, and makes you question our world and its entanglement with the media and politics.
