States and Their Images: By Any Means Necessary?
The media and politics presentation centered on The Gambia’s inability to protect its resources from foreign exploitation. There are few foreign companies that are deemed to be exploiting The Gambia and its scarcity of resources without regard to the environment and the interest of The Gambian people. This has led the local community to react and create ill feelings toward the Chinese company. So my presentation focuses on those issues and made suggestions on, how can The Gambia improve its standing and ensure foreign companies did not take advantage of the country. And finally, I ended with a personal reflection on why the media and politics, were an important part of my education at NUQ.
