Navigating the Scapes of Power in the Middle East

This project explores a multi-layered understanding of power in the Middle East through power scapes. The included ‘scapes’ are landscape, political scape, economic scape, and mediascape. This exploration helps to understand complex world events.  In this video, I’ll introduce the complex power struggles in the Middle East, where multiple actors and institutions compete for influence and control. To better understand these power dynamics, I’ll explore the concept of ‘scapes’ and analyze the power in different aspects. We’ll focus on four key scapes: landscape, political scape, economic scape, and mediascape, and their interactions that shape power relations. I’ll use two examples to illustrate these connections: the tapes of Khomeini and the “voice of Arabs” radio station. Additionally, I’ll discuss the impact of the internet and social media on power relations in the Middle East. This video aims to clarify my reflection essay on the scapes of power in the Middle East.
