A Voice for the Voiceless: Race, Media, and Politics

Mohamed Eltayeb is a Sudanese-American, born and raised in Denver, Colorado. His presentation speaks on his journey as a student and how the courses at both NUQ and GUQ led him to become a multimedia journalist. During the year 2020, Mohamed Eltayeb used his academic understanding and personal experiences to create a media platform titled 20/20 Vision. Through his content, Mohamed has documented the Black Lives Matter protests transpiring in Denver and across the country through media elements such as written stories, mobile journalism, and podcasting to illustrate African Americans’ accounts. For Mohamed, today’s media has evolved in many ways to promote the people and become a voice for the voiceless.
