Media’s Influence in Shaping the Truth
The media and politics minor has been instrumental in deepening my understanding of crucial societal issues. Through a combination of courses at both Northwestern and Georgetown University, I’ve had the opportunity to engage with diverse perspectives and gain invaluable insights. In my e-portfolio and video presentation, I aim to explore three pivotal aspects of the intricate relationship between media and politics. Firstly, delving into how media shapes political ideologies, followed by an examination of the impactful role of film and documentary filmmaking in advocating for political causes. Lastly, addressing the formidable challenges of upholding truth and integrity in the face of widespread misinformation and digital manipulation. Together, these topics offer a comprehensive understanding of the complexities inherent in the intersection of media and politics, reflecting the essence of my journey through the media and politics minor.
