Hi all,
Due to issues with port 2, SVP3 will be taken offline on Wednesday (11/18) from 11 am until Thursday ~noon and any samples on the instrument at that time will be removed. Please plan your experiments accordingly.
Proper SVP use will prevent solvent and/or MOF from being pulled into the instrument and will prolong the lifespan of the port valves. To avoid any future issues:
- samples should be placed in the vacuum oven for a minimum of 1 hour prior to placing on the SVP (unless you supercritically dried your MOF),
- evacuation rates should be set to <2 mmHg/s,
- and seal frits must be used.
If you plan on doing a larger scale activation, please contact me beforehand. If you are unsure about the parameters you are using for your activation, feel free to shoot me a text or email (info is on the instrument).
