Dear Professors Stoddart, Silverman, Farha, Hupp, Wasielewski, Stupp, Marks, and Freedman
I am writing to inform you that multiple NMR samples from your group members have not been picked up from previous warnings, violating the NMR tube pickup policy. These samples will be delivered to your lab by IMSERC NMR staff. The details of this policy (that has been in effect since September, 2019) can be found here:
http://imserc.northwestern.edu/downloads/nmr-tube-policy.pdf
Most of the samples have been at IMSERC for more than one month. As such, and in accordance with the IMSERC NMR tube policy that ensures compliance with University safety requirements, IMSERC will charge your discretional account based on the following rate:
Number of samples X $7.13 plus $21.38 per trip.
We have sorted only about half of the samples. We would greatly appreciate it if you could take this opportunity to encourage your group members to stop by IMSERC to check if they have more samples in the unsorted piles (located behind X500 computer table) before more charges are applied after they are sorted/returned by NMR staff.
For the current samples being returned and charged, we assumed that there were no COVID-based operational limitations for lab members to pick up samples, given that these are all a month or older. We assume, additionally, that these students are still working on site at Northwestern. Upon receipt of the tubes, please reach out if there is an issue with a specific individual that our assumptions overlooked, and we will work to reverse the charges.
Thank you
Best,
Yongbo
