Berlin, I am coming!

Hey Guys!

My name is Roman, I am a rising sophomore majoring in Economics with a minor in Transportation and Logistics and who knows what else. I was born in the Slovak Republic, I lived a few years in Italy where I graduated from United World College and then I finally moved to the US to study at Northwestern. (Go Cats! )

This is me doing what I love the most – chilling outside, having a drink with friends!

I am European so living in and studying in Berlin will be a different experience for me than it will for my American friends, however, having travelled many countries in Europe, I know culture and people differ a lot from country to country. I am looking forward to compare the Slovak and Italian way of life to the one in Berlin. In Slovakia, I lived in a small town, in Italy it was a small village..Evanston is a small city and Berlin is a huge city. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to live in 4 different countries and settings when I am just 20 years old.

I can’t wait to explore Berlin’s cafe’s, wonderful parks and drink a lot of beer and eat a lot of Wursts! (typical German sausage). I am very excited but also a bit scared. I took Intensive German with prof. Zeller…and I am still surprised how much German I learned in only 2 and half months! It’s an amazing course if you don’t want to come to Berlin with zero German, definitely take it in Spring, she is an amazing professor and you will love the course. I hope to improve my German skills, learn something new in my Humboldt classes and most importantly, I hope I will have a lot fun in Berlin’s famous clubs and parks!

Bis Bald!
