Cohort: 4

Where are you from?

I am from The Republic of Congo, by way of Westmont, Illinois.

Why did you decide to apply to NPEP?

Because I wanted to be part of a program that would challenge, empower, and allow me to reach my full potential as a human being and intellectual.

What does being a part of NPEP mean to you?

It means a lot. I never thought I would ever be accepted into such a prestigious college and change my life for the better.

What are you most looking forward to as an NPEP student?

Earning a degree and being part of a movement that helps create and foster change in a positive way within IDOC.

What is something you would like others to know about you as a student?

I love soccer and math, and I want to become a computer nerd after parole.

What is a fact about yourself that others might find surprising?

Even though I was born in Congo, I’ve never seen a lion in the wild!
