Arielle W. Tolman

Arielle W. Tolman is a Northwestern University Law and Science Fellow pursuing a joint JD/PhD in Sociology. She served as Editor-in-Chief of the Northwestern University Law Review from 2017-2018. Ari received her BA in Sociology (High Honors) and Neuroscience and Behavior (High Honors) from Wesleyan University in 2010 and her MA in Sociology from Northwestern in 2015. At Wesleyan, Ari worked at the Connecticut Juvenile Training School where she coordinated a tutoring and writing program for incarcerated juveniles. She has advocated for prisoners’ rights and criminal justice reform as a post-graduate fellow at the ACLU of Michigan, as a legal intern at the Uptown People’s Law Center, and as a law student at the Children and Family Justice Center of the Bluhm Legal Clinic at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law.
