Arturo Chang

Arturo Chang is a PhD Candidate in the Department of Political Science at Northwestern University. His research in Political Theory studies the development of Latin American political thought, theories of revolutionary change, and the role of popular discourse in post-colonial projects. His dissertation, titled “Imagining America: International Commiseration and National Revolution in the Modern Post-Colony,” traces the emergence of Pan-American discourse and its influence on developing insurgency movements during the Age of Revolution. Arturo will be completing his research as a Franke Graduate Fellow with the Alice Kaplan Institute for the Humanities during the 2019-2020 school year. He earned a BA in Political Science from DePaul University before joining Northwestern. Arturo began volunteering with NPEP in 2019 and is excited to continue his engagement in the program as a member of the Graduate Student Advisory Committee.
