The North Area Experience
Despite the myths about the size of campus, the North Area isn’t all that far from Norris University Center or even downtown Evanston. Still, residents get a sense of leaving the hustle and bustle behind when they come home at the end of the day. Straddling Sheridan Road, the North Area hosts a lot of classes in 560 Lincoln and Elder, which helps residents manage their schedules and meet their neighbors. There are also great walking and biking routes in North Evanston and into Wilmette.
The North Area in Photos
Students, families, and alumni who want to feel connected to the North Area can keep up with us on Instagram. We’ll provide a steady diet of pictures of what is going on, including flyers for upcoming programs and photos of events. For those into nostalgia, don’t miss #ThrowbackThursday images from our friends in University Archives. And, for anyone who likes puzzlers, we’ll be posting beautiful architectural pictures of the area’s buildings and common spaces. The catch? We’re zooming in so followers don’t have much context for identifying them. Think you know campus like the back of your hand? Step right up and take a guess!
COVID-19 Housing Information
The area website will continue to be a source of area-specific information for all first- and second-year students affiliated with the North Area, regardless of where they are living in 2020-21. Students living on campus should also refer to the COVID-19 Housing website, which has regularly updated service and resource information from Residential Services.
