I am currently enrolled in the CFS Modern Workplace course, and my internship is as a Sports/Events intern at KemperLesnik. KemperLesnik is a company that does public relations, sports marketing, event marketing, content marketing, and e-sports. During my time at KemperLesnik, I have worked on projects in sponsorships, operations, and marketing. The events that I have helped with are the Maui Jim Maui Invitational Tournament and McDonald’s All American Game. I truly have enjoyed my internship learning about the different areas in the sports industry. In sponsorships, I have created media recap reports for brands that sponsored the 2018 MJMI tournament. I learned about a database that converts broadcast views, social media impressions, and engagements into monetary values. This database gave me the ability to show the brands how much their sponsorships were worth in publicity through interactions in broadcast and social media. I have also worked on a research project for the 2019 MJMI tournament by developing a detailed list of potential companies in Maui and Oahu to sponsor for next year. In operations, I have worked on a project for the 2019 McDAAG by developing transportation options for the players, families, staff, and equipment. I have helped with player relations for the players in the 2019 McDAAG by recording data and answering questions for the players and families. In marketing, I have helped brainstorm possible marketing ideas for our partner Pepsi. I have also researched possible locations and events for these marketing tactics in the future. I really have enjoyed my experience with KemperLesnik and have learned a lot about the sports industry. Everyone at the company has been so welcoming and so helpful during my internship. I am glad I have done the CFS program and would encourage others to do it.
