CANS Reporting

At Northwestern University, our goal is to make the IDCFS CANS a meaningful tool for case and clinical practice. An important aspect of this includes utilizing CANS data to create reports. We currently generate recurring and regular reports in addition to reports generated by special request. Our regular reporting targets the specific populations and needs of staff within an agency or program specific to their case managers, supervisors, or administrators. Ad hoc reporting or reporting initiated by a specific and/or one-time request is developed to fit the needs of the user.

Data collection and analysis to support programs and administration occurs within ACR, IB3, IA, CIPP, Pay for Success, Well-Being Committee, Foundations, Residential, IPS, Intact, Placement, and Pregnant and Parenting Teens.

In general, our reports fall into five broad categories:

  • Submission Reports
  • Change/Progress Reports
  • Demographic Reports
  • Aggregate Reports
  • Spatial Reports

Below you will find samples of these categories and additional information on how they are currently used in the field.

Our team is always happy to work with you to develop a report to fit your needs.
