Why did you decide to apply to NPEP?
Throughout my incarceration, I’ve taken advantage of every occasion to better myself. I could not pass up the opportunity to further my education with a reputable university such as Northwestern.
What does being a part of NPEP mean to you?
This opportunity means everything to me. I’m only the second in my family to receive a college education, and the first to attend a university.
What are you most looking forward to as an NPEP student?
I’m looking forward to earning my bachelor’s degree from a top 10 university and creating bonds with some amazing people in the process.
What is something you would like others to know about you as a student?
I enjoy the challenge when the homework piles up and the pressure mounts.
What is a fact about yourself that others might find surprising?
I’m a true daughter’s daddy — I love my girls!
