What does being a part of NPEP mean to you?
Being a part of NPEP means everything to me. It would instill a greater sense of pride and accomplishment in the midst of an unconventional situation. I will be an example for the next person or generation that may think it can’t be done. I’m the evidence it can be done!
Why did you decide to apply to NPEP and what are you most excited about?
I decided to apply to NPEP because I’ve always wanted to attend Northwestern University but life happened. When this opportunity was presented, I felt it was fate and an absolute no brainer. I know NPEP will stretch me further than I’ve ever been before. I’m most excited about seeing my name on a Northwestern certificate.
What is something you would like people to know about you as a student?
I am hardworking and I don’t mind asking for help. I love to learn things that are useful and beneficial.
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
I would love to have dinner with my daddy. He passed in December while I was incarcerated. He never got the chance to see the woman I developed into.
