What does being a part of NPEP mean to you?

Being a part of NPEP means the difference between motivation/purpose and depression. I crave mental stimulation and before NPEP, I felt as if I was just wasting away physically and mentally after exhausting all avenues at Logan to try to get into college courses. NPEP literally saved my brain!!!

Why did you decide to apply to NPEP and what are you most excited about?

I decided to apply to NPEP because I wasn’t getting anywhere with enrollment into college courses at Logan and I desperately needed to be in some sort of classes. I was yearning for any reason to be able to use my brain and NPEP was the perfect one! I’m most excited to be challenged again and use some brain cells.

What is something you would like people to know about you as a student?

As a student, I take my schoolwork seriously, especially with NPEP. I consider this a privilege and commit to do the very best to my ability. I will put in all the time and work that I need to in order to ensure that I succeed.

If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?

Governor J.B. Pritzker. I would want to discuss prison conditions and reform. I would also want to talk about our criminal justice system and reform as well. Hopefully that would get my foot in the door for him to value my opinion for future discussions on how broken both systems are.
