Sheridan Students
As of the Winter 2025, there are 70 students and alumni at Sheridan Correctional Center in Sheridan, Illinois. Cohorts 2 and 4 are working toward a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in social sciences, which will be conferred by the School of Professional Studies at Northwestern University. Cohort 3 is working toward an Associate in General Studies degree, which will be conferred by NPEP’s partner, Oakton College. Cohort 5 students recently enrolled in their second year of Northwestern coursework.
Logan Students
NPEP’s first cohort of students at Logan Correctional Center will make history at their commencement in the spring of 2026, becoming the first incarcerated women in the United States to graduate from a top ten university. In the Winter Quarter of 2026, NPEP will welcome their second cohort of women, bringing NPEP’s total number of alumni and students at Logan to 45.
