Sanjana Subramaniam

Sanjana Subramaniam (she/her/hers) is a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the Advanced Manufacturing Processes Lab (AMPL). Her research interests include investigating the mechanics and manufacturing processes for fiber-reinforced composites for structural applications and electrospun composites for dew-collection and micro-electronic devices. She earned a BSE in engineering and BA in chemistry from Temple University before joining Northwestern University.

In addition to her interest in engineering, one of Sanjana’s major goals includes making STEM education more accessible to people who are underrepresented in this field. This passion led her to volunteer with NPEP in 2019 and join the Graduate Student Advisory Committee.

Outside of a lab setting, she enjoys drawing/painting, reading, cooking, weightlifting, and watching movies.
