Where are you from?
I’m from the South Side of Chicago (born and raised).
Why did you decide to apply to NPEP?
I decided to apply to NPEP because earning a college degree is a life goal of mine. I also wanted to make use of my time while serving my sentence.
What does being a part of NPEP mean to you?
Being a part of NPEP means I’m a part of a huge family of people from different walks of life. We all share a common goal: to see each other be the best version of themselves.
What are you most looking forward to as an NPEP student?
Besides meeting new people and learning new things I can apply to life, I look forward to earning my degree and using it to give back in the same way this opportunity has been given to me.
What is something you would like others to know about you as a student?
As a student, I take my work very seriously. If there’s ever a time I have my head down writing or I’m staring into space, please forgive me — I tend to overthink and get focused.
What is a fact about yourself that others might find surprising?
I’ve never been to an amusement park.
