Michael Bradley

Where are you from?
Chicago – South Suburban area.

Why did you decide to apply to NPEP?
I already had planned on completing my bachelors degree upon my release. The opportunity to
apply to NPEP was a chance to pursue this goal before I am released. This opportunity
means the world to me because upon my release, empowered by my bachelors degree, I will be
an immediate asset to my family and my community.

What are you most looking forward to as an NPEP student?
I’m looking forward to giving back and reaching back after I complete the program. I’d like to
become an NPEP graduate-peer/mentor and help develop NPEP and promote higher education
in our state.

What is something you would like others to know about you as a student?
I’m very family orientated and I’m currently seeking a reduced sentence through the court. In the
next few months, I’m looking at getting a new trial. I’ve been in prison since the age of 19 and I
have been in prison for 19 years now. I am 38 years-old and I have one daughter and I am
single.
