Jacob Currey

Cohort: 3

Where are you from?

Earth.

Why did you decide to apply to NPEP?

I value understanding and believe education is the proper foundation for success. I look forward to shaping my skills to combat the many injustices that take place every day.

What does being part of NPEP mean to you?

Family.

What has been your favorite NPEP reading?

Jeanne Bishop’s “Change of Heart: Justice, Mercy, and Making Peace with My Sister’s Killer.” I was deeply moved by the powers of forgiveness and mercy Jeanne experienced. I think many people search for ways to grapple with heinous acts and often write off forgiveness and mercy when there is a true sense of freedom for the victim and offender.

What is something you would like others to know about you as a student?

I am dedicated. I will take everything I learn and use it to better myself and pass along all the knowledge I gain. I will never be too busy to lead and consider everyone my family.

What is a fact about yourself that others might find surprising?

I feel the most peaceful at 150 mph, and I am probably the kindest and most caring person you will ever meet.
