Hope McCaffrey

Hope (she/her) is a graduate student in the History PhD program at Northwestern. Her research examines the intersection of gender, race, power, and politics in the nineteenth-century United States, specifically in the Midwest and the antebellum “free” states. Prior to attending Northwestern, Hope earned a BA in History from the George Washington University and a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Portland State University. Hope joined NPEP as a Correspondence Tutor in the fall in 2020 and the Graduate Student Advisory Committee in the spring of 2021.
