Christine Castorino (she/her) is a graduate student at Northwestern University, completing her Master of Arts in Counseling in June 2025. Christine joined NPEP’s Wellness Team in Fall 2023 due to her interests in mental healthcare access and reintegration support for incarcerated populations.
Christine is a Psychotherapy Intern at Depth Counseling, a group psychotherapy practice in Chicago. Christine has clinical interests in family issues, grief, incarceration, parenting, relationships/attachment, sexual abuse, and trauma/PTSD. Christine is working with fellow NPEP volunteer (Liam Gelling) on a research article which discusses a psychodynamic understanding of sexual abuse by examining a published case study and other relevant literature.
Prior to Northwestern, Christine worked at a Philadelphia-based nonprofit organization that served children and teenagers with autism. In the summer of 2023, Christine assisted in the USRowing Under-23 National Team Selection Camp for the Men’s Quadruple Sculls, preparing collegiate athletes for their performance at the World Rowing Under-23 Championships in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
Previously, Christine attended Syracuse University where she completed a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Applied Statistics. She was a four-year varsity athlete on the women’s rowing team, aiding Syracuse to its highest finish at NCAA Championships in program history.
