Where are you from?
The southeast side of Chicago.
Why did you decide to apply to NPEP?
After receiving my associate’s degree from Lake Land College, I wanted more and what could be better than getting a bachelor’s degree from one of the top 10 schools in the country? Thanks to NPEP for the opportunity.
What does being a part of NPEP mean to you?
I know that I am a part of something that a lot of people worked very hard to make happen. So I feel I’m a part of something special when I see teachers and students take time out of their lives to help educate me! It doesn’t get any better than that — thank you to all of you.
What are you most looking forward to as an NPEP student?
The challenge of learning new things and being around like-minded people with the goal of learning and sharing our experiences with each other. Go Wildcats!
What is something you would like others to know about you as a student?
I take every class seriously and give my teachers and fellow students my respect and undivided attention.
What is a fact about yourself that others might find surprising?
At 43 years old, I won the dodgeball and handball tournaments at Western Illinois Correctional Center.
