What does being a part of NPEP mean to you?
I am so thankful for this opportunity. Having this chance gives me a sense of self-worth and I feel like I can “meet” my kids where they’re at, having this chance to go to college, they see why I pushed them so hard when it comes to getting an education. As parents, we strive for better when it comes to our children. I hope my kids will be proud of me as well.
Why did you decide to apply to NPEP and what are you most excited about?
First, I am super excited to be a part of the NPEP family, my mom always wanted me to go to college because she didn’t. I took a chance and am glad I did. I just want to make both my moms proud.
What is something you would like people to know about you as a student?
I have struggled with being a procrastinator, but I am making positive changes with my study habits, I really love to learn and find myself looking forward to the next quarter
If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be?
David Bowie–what an interesting person both in his artistry with music and also being such an innovative human being. How much fun would a conversation be with him to discuss music, movies, history, and life experiences.
