Christopher Douglas

Cohort: 3

Where are you from?

Chicago.

Why did you decide to apply to NPEP?

This is a golden opportunity that doesn’t come around that often —that’s why I applied to NPEP. I’m most excited about the entire college education experience and furthering my education.

What does being a part of NPEP mean to you?

Being a part of NPEP means I will be more of an asset to my community than a liability. My completion of this program will help build character.

What has been your favorite NPEP reading?

“The New Jim Crow” and “Punishment and Transformation” really hit home for me.

What is something you would like others to know about you as a student?

That I’m a father first and foremost, and I’m dedicated to being a better version of myself. Thanks to God, I’m humble and learning to be more communicative with others.

What is a fact about yourself that others might find surprising?

That I’m a huge family-oriented individual and I truly love cars.
