Aleia Bellcross

Aleia (she/her) is a PhD candidate in the department of chemistry at Northwestern University. Aleia works in the labs of Franz Geiger and Regan Thomson, and her research focuses on the surfaces of secondary organic aerosol particles in our atmosphere with the broad intention of improving global climate models. Previously, Aleia received a BS in chemistry and a BS in environmental chemistry from the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. Outside of chemistry, Aleia is interested in the intersection of science and social justice, in particular environmental justice and equity. Aleia has been a volunteer with NPEP since the Fall of 2020, and is excited to continue to serve the organization on the Graduate Student Advisory Committee.
