Northwestern has a large and lively community of scholars working in the philosophy of language. Phling, the working group in philosophy and linguistics, meets regularly throughout the year. Additionally, the study of philosophy of language is complimented by work done in other departments at Northwestern: NU Cognitive Science Program, the NU Linguistics Department and NU Psychology Department.
