My experience in CFS Business Culture has been extremely positive. The dynamic of the class is very different than previous classes I have taken, being online, so it has been interesting seeing the pros and cons of such a learning platform. Allowing me to talk to a wide array of students from all over the US right from my room has been very unique, and I have grown to like it. The idea that we can take this class any way we like is also a huge positive. Most of what we get out of a class like this is what we put into it, which is very different than other classes which can be more rigid. Since we all are doing different internships from all over the US, many people have different reactions to blog posts and internship questions than others. This flexibility in a course is why I have grown to really enjoy CFS Business Culture.
I am currently interning at the fatigue lab at NASA where we research the effects of sleep loss on cognitive function. This summer, we have been doing research on the effects of sleep deprivation on a person’s reaction time and reflexes. We are hoping this research will help shed light on how long one has to be awake for to be considered sleep deprived as well the negative consequences and dangers of not sleeping for an extended period of time.
