Meet the Employers – Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the event happening?

Meet the Employers will take place in Northwestern Simpson & Querrey Biomedical Atrium, across the street from the law school. Please enter through the doors beneath the skybridge, opposite the Starbucks.

303 E Superior St
Chicago, IL 60611

Signage will guide them to the check-in desk. A coat stand will be available at check-in.

When is the event happening?

Wednesday, March 27, 2024
5:30PM – 7:00PM CT

Check-in will be from 5:00PM – 5:30PM CT.

How many representatives may an employer send?

Due to limited space, employers may only send up to 2 representatives.

Please send the names of the representatives to Fred Pelzer by Friday, March 22.

Is there an invoice?

Yes, invoices will be emailed to the registered point of contact. Employers can pay by credit card or check.

How many students should we expect?

We generally expect around 100 first year law students to attend this event, making it the largest networking event of the academic year.

May employers send marketing materials or promotional items?

Employers are welcome to bring or send in advance any materials that can fit on a table. Signs and table cloths, due to limited space, are not allowed. Each employer receives one small cabaret table, skirted with black tablecloth. A placard with the name of the organization will be placed on each table.

Materials can be brought on the day or sent in advance (with a completed label) to:

Fred Pelzer
Associate Director of Operations
Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law
375 E Chicago Ave, LM124
Chicago, IL 60611

All items being shipped back must include a FedEx label with account number and mailing information. We will schedule the pick-up of your items as soon as possible.

Please note that materials sent to our mail room may take an additional day to reach our office, and so we recommend sending materials as far in advance as possible.

Is there a dress code?

Students have been told to come in Business Attire; while it’s suggested employer representatives do the same, they may dress as they see fit.

Is there parking?

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide parking passes to employer representatives. However, there is some street parking available.

Additional questions?

If you have any questions or need any assistance, please contact Fred Pelzer.

2023 Arlyn Miner Moot Court

The Communication and Legal Reasoning Program at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law cordially invites you to participate as a judge of oral arguments in the 2023 Arlyn Miner Moot Court.

This year’s rounds are scheduled for:

Monday, April 3
Tuesday, April 4
Wednesday, April 5
Monday, April 10
Wednesday, April 12
Thursday, April 13

Oral arguments will begin each evening at 6:30pm. Afterwards there will be a networking reception for judges and students to interact with one another beginning at 7:30pm in Lowden Hall. Complimentary parking is available in the Abbott Hall parking lot for judges.

For Illinois attorneys, 1-2 General Credits of CLE are available (the exact amount depends on the number of judges on your panel).

Please RSVP here.  You may sign up for one or multiple dates. If you are unable to join us this year, we hope that you will pass this invitation to any colleagues or associates who may enjoy this event.

The Arlyn Miner Moot Court is a vital part of the first year experience. The non-competitive event provides an invaluable opportunity for students to present oral arguments before practicing lawyers serving as judges and to see the connection between their law school coursework and the world of practice.
