The South Area Experience
Students love living in the South Area. For some, it’s the collegiate feel of a quaint, century-old building like Hobart. For others, it’s being by the popular Allison Dining Commons. For all, it’s the daily reminder of being a student at Northwestern. As you turn to the east to cross Sheridan Road, the Weber Arch is welcoming you and Lake Michigan is shimmering in the distance. It’s an instaworthy view in all seasons.
The South Area in Photos
Students, families, and alumni who want to feel connected to the South Area can keep up with us on Instagram. We provide a steady diet of pictures of what is going on, including flyers for upcoming programs and photos of events. We have a couple of regular features you’ll want to look out for. On occasional Wednesdays, #whereiswinston shows our superstar mascot, Winston the Skunk, hanging out in the South Area and other spots around campus. Every so often, #studentsofsouth introduces followers to a South Area resident with a photo and a fun Q&A.
