The natural greenhouse effect due to some atmospheric gasses (CO2 ; H2O) makes Earth’s surface about 33 degrees C warmer than otherwise, so life can thrive.
However, increased greenhouse gases due to human activity would probably cause global warming and sometimes deleterious climate changes; for example, in precipitation, storm patterns, and sea level.
