Welcome to the Higher-Level Cognition Lab

Research in this lab is devoted to understanding the nature of cognition, especially the nature of concepts and reasoning. Some of the topics we investigate include:

  • deductive and inductive reasoning
  • concepts of individual objects and their histories
  • concepts of events
  • causal cognition
  • mathematical thinking (concepts of numbers, non-Euclidean geometry, and abstract algebra)
  • informal argumentation
  • autobiographical memory and survey responding

Please visit the Project pages for more specific information about on-going research. Recent articles also appear under Publications.
