What is the Northeast Area Council?
The Northeast Area Council is a student-led organization that will provide leadership and engagement opportunities within the area. Serving as a member of Area Council is perfect for residents seeking to expand their leadership profile and make their mark on the Northwestern residential experience by creating new traditions and organizing special events for the community.
What does Northeast Area Council do?
The Northeast Area Council is responsible for:
- developing social and recreational programming for residents
- promoting affinity for the residential area in line with the area’s identity
- engaging residents of the area in the program planning process through committees
- providing leadership opportunities within Northwestern’s Leadership Framework
Who is a part of the Northeast Area Council?
Northeast Area Council is made up of four elected officers (President, Vice President of Administration, Vice President of Finance, and Vice President of Programming) and appointed Building Representatives (residence hall or residential college). Elected officers will work closely with the members of the area leadership team through their Advisors, who will ensure council activities comply with university policies and procedures. Together the elected officers and building representatives carry out the responsibilities of the Area Council.
