Jim Brodie, Desk Clerk
As the Desk Clerk at the Northeast Area Desk at Sargent, Matthew is the first point of contact for the students and staff in the area.. Matthew provides customer service and support to the residents and staff. He troubleshoots lock problems, issues temporary key cards, liaises with facilities and lock shop personnel for lock issues, and refers students and staff to various department and campus resources.
Prior to working at Northwestern University, Matthew was heavily active both on-and-off stage in Chicago’s vibrant theatre scene. Matthew received his BA in Communication from DePaul University and has been pursuing Master’s Degree programs in an effort to continue his education and expand his horizons.

The Facilities team makes sure that the Northeast Area’s buildings stay in great shapes for residents to enjoy. You’ll see team members cleaning and setting up rooms for events on a daily basis. We also respond to maintenance requests when things aren’t working quite right. If you’re experiencing any issues with your room or you see something wrong in a common space, please submit a report!
