St. Louis Post-Dispatch (1874-2003)

The St. Louis Post Dispatch has a major place in newspaper history. It was created by Joseph Pulitzer when he merged two publications in 1874. Important historical figures who have written for the St. Louis Post Dispatch include Mark Twain, cartoonist Bill Maudlin, and Otto Fuerbringer, later editor of Time Magazine. The newspaper is a “daily publication provides a uniquely Midwestern perspective of local, national and international news.”
