Check out David, Viraj, and Boyeong’s paper on a hydrazone photoswitch that gates internal catalysis of dynamic covalent exchange in J. Am. Chem. Soc.! With this design, we are able to tune the rate of transesterification of boronic esters 80,000-fold using light, and we also demonstrate the resulting mechanical effects on a polymer network.
