It is the mission of the Hartmann lab to protect environmental and public health by explaining microbe-chemical interactions, especially those taking place in built environments. We house a robust, interdisciplinary research program and communicate results to academic audiences, professionals, and the general public. This new knowledge advances the field of microbiology and informs consumers.
