The conference “Microlocal Analysis and Quantum Dynamics 2024” will focus on recent developments in applications of the tools of semiclassical microlocal analysis, with a focus on quantum dynamics. Areas of applications include quantum chaos, scattering resonances and Ruelle resonances, and solid state physics. The conference aims to bring together researchers from various mathematical communities, enabling them to share new techniques and open problems. It will be preceded by a week-long summer school for graduate students, advanced undergraduates, and early-career researchers. The conference will also honor the mathematics and legacy of Steve Zelditch.
Dates
- June 17-21, 2024 (Summer School); June 24-28, 2024 (Conference)
Location
- Northwestern University’s Evanston campus
- Most events in the summer school will be held in room Tech LR4, in the Technological Institute. See the Summer School Schedule for more details.
- All conference talks will be held in the Abbott Laboratories Auditorium in Pancoe Pavilion.
See the Travel Information page for information about traveling to Evanston, as well as parking and housing/hotel information. In addition, see here for health and safety tips while in the area.
Summer School
The summer school introduces the core concepts in semiclassical microlocal analysis as well as a variety of applications to quantum and classical dynamics. The summer school aims to prepare graduate students, advanced undergraduates, and early-career researchers for the subsequent conference, Microlocal Analysis and Quantum Dynamics 2024.
