I am currently interning at the healthcare consulting firm Healthbox, doing both projects for their consulting team and research for their micro-fund team. I really enjoy being in the workplace; there’s a lot you simply have to experience and cannot simulate in a classroom. The workplace is rewarding in a real way that just isn’t so in academics.

That said, my Business Field Studies Course has been very useful for considering the way I approach my internship and allows me to hear about others’ experiences as we go along. This is incredibly valuable for evaluating both myself and my performance and to also compare many of the challenges interns encounter as they learn on the job. My class is also a good supplement to the internship experience because as we discuss various aspects of working in and running a business, I’m also going into work everyday to observe and apply what I’ve learned in class.
