Causeway participants receive a full tuition waiver and a living stipend so that they may focus on their studies. The program begins in July and ends the following June.
July
Participants arrive and begin their Causeway experience.
July–September
Students take an five-week course, “Foundations of Higher Mathematics,” conduct their research experience with a faculty mentor, take part in a survey and an interview for the evaluation component of the program, participate in the Causeway Seminar series, and prepare for the GRE Mathematics Subject Test.
September–December
Students take three courses in Fall Quarter, participate in the Causeway Seminar series, and prepare applications for graduate school.
January–March
Students take three courses in Winter Quarter, participate in the Causeway Seminar series, and mentor high school students.
April–June
Students take three spring quarter courses, participate in the Causeway Seminar series, and mentor high school students, and take part in a survey and interview for the evaluation component of the program.
