Graduate Student Organizations

Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) Northwestern University’s Black Graduate Student Association’s goal is to foster a sense of community among the Black graduate student body by representing and acting upon its academic, cultural, intellectual, social, and political concerns and interests. We also invite others who value BGSA as a community to support students of color to join us.
Chinese Student and Scholars Association (CSSA) Northwestern University Chinese Students and Scholars Association is a student organization dedicated to promoting social, intellectual and cultural activities for Chinese students and scholars. We strive to provide benefits for Chinese students and scholars at Northwestern University by organizing big festival activites, providing information for jobs and so on. We encourages all, especially incoming, Chinese students and scholars to join our organization and participate in our activities
Chicago Graduate Student Association (CGSA) The Chicago Graduate Student Association is a student organization that encompasses graduate students in programs on Northwestern University’s Chicago Campus. The CGSA exists to provide a forum to address the academic, social, and advocacy needs of graduate students on the Chicago campus, as well to promote interactions with groups on the Evanston campus.
Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW-NU) Engineers for a Sustainable World mobilizes students through education, training, and practical action, building collaborative partnerships to meet the needs of current and future generations. We create and maintain projects here on the Evanston campus or abroad. We welcome students of all background and encourage everyone to look into our projects.
Graduate International Student Association (G-ISA) G-ISA’s mission is to foster greater cross-cultural understanding by promoting interaction, providing information and ensuring inclusion for and by the graduate international community.
Graduate Student Association for Latino and Spanish Activities (G-SALSA) G-SALSA was founded with the purpose of providing a multicultural environment where students can meet and interact with other students to celebrate and learn about Hispanic and Latin American culture. The membership of G-SALSA is open to all graduate students at Northwestern University. We hope to provide all G-SALSA members with a friendly environment  while pursuing their graduate studies at NU.
Graduate Women Across Northwestern (GWAN) Graduate Women Across Northwestern (GWAN) is an interdisciplinary organization that seeks to create community building opportunities for women in the graduate and professional programs at Northwestern University. We welcome all women in graduate or professional programs.
Indian Graduate Student and Scholars Association (IGSSA) The Indian Graduate Student and Scholars Association at Northwestern University was initially dependent entirely on contributions from the students and organizing small but delightful events centered around Indian Festivals. The objectives of IGSSA are to increase the awareness of Indians on campus and in the community, to preserve the rich cultural heritage of India, to ensure a homely atmosphere for Indian students living away from home, and to unite Indians and people of other races by celebrating and learning from diversity.
McCormick Graduate Leadership Council (MGLC) The McCormick Graduate Leadership Council was founded to promote a sense of community among the 700+ graduate students within the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science at Northwestern University. With strong support from the Dean of Northwestern Engineering, MGLC is a council of graduate student leaders representing all departments within Northwestern Engineering.
Queer Pride Graduate Student Association (QPGSA) Northwestern University’s Queer Pride Graduate Student Association is an award-winning social and advocacy group for graduate students enrolled in The Graduate School of Northwestern University. QPGSA is committed to develop a sense of community among the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, intersexed, and allied members of Northwestern’s graduate student community. Membership is available to all current Northwestern graduate students and alumni members who personally identify with and support the goals and the mission of our organization.
